Jeff Barba

Jeff brings over 20 years of experience in accounting, finance, and technology.

Before starting Barba CFO, Jeff worked 7 years at a traditional CPA firm as both an auditor and tax accountant and also spent 5 years as a controller and VP of Finance. Jeff saw a void in the marketplace in the form of businesses who needed fractional CFO and controller services. He sensed a calling to help fill that need.

Jeff is a member of the Rhode Island Society of CPAs where he was awarded the President’s award for the successful RIYAN (Rhode Island Young Accountant Network) committee that he chaired for three years. He is the current chair of the Society’s technology committee.

Jeff earned a B.S. in Accounting from Rhode Island College, and passed the CPA exam at the age of 22. He received an MBA from Providence College.

An avid golfer, Jeff is a member and former club champion of Quidnessett Country Club. He has qualified to play in three Rhode Island State Amateur Golf Championships. Jeff grew up in Warwick, where he resides today. A “typical Rhode Islander,” Jeff has lived in the same 5 mile radius for his entire life.


Joe Schrader

Joe Schrader has been with Barba CFO for over 9 years. Joe possesses over 30 years of experience in senior financial and IT systems management, design and implementation. Prior to joining our team, Joe spent 9 years as a controller in the hotel and healthcare industries and 16 years as an IT Director in the healthcare industry..

Joe’s professional focus has been on the efficient integration of technology with accounting/operational systems. In his time at South Shore Mental Health Center, Joe used a blend of tight fiscal management and a wide range of technical skills to guide the building of a state of the art accounting and information system, providing automation and real time performance metrics at a level typically reserved for the largest behavioral healthcare organizations. In the process, countless automated solutions were delivered such as: Medicaid billing/receivable management, client insurance/ pre-authorization verification, live POS fee calculation, schedule management and government-mandated client, service, financial and clinical outcomes data submissions. .

At Barba CFO, Joe employs such specialized skills, including:

- CFO for Hire (financial statement prep, budget to actual analysis, business forecasting & advisement, operational assessment and improvements etc.)

- KPI Dashboarding

Joe holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the State University of NY and an MBA in Finance from the University of Rhode Island. Joe also has recently completed a Master of Theological Studies degree from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary.

Joe and his wife Sandy love spending time with family, adult children, 4 grandchildren and lots of nieces and nephews. They also enjoy participating in USTA tennis as a formidable mixed doubles tandem. For exercise, Joe prefers jogging and strength training. Joe and Sandy are very active in church life and encouraging others in Christian faith.


Mike Ursillo, MBA

Mike joined Barba CFO in 2011, bringing over 25 years of experience in accounting, finance, and business management. He has held positions as Operations Manager, General Manager, Controller, and CFO among businesses in the manufacturing, service, and distribution industries.

As part of our team, Mike is a CFO that helps small business owners manage their affairs by providing accurate and timely financial information. He provides sound business advice, resulting from his many years spent in the business world.He also provides budgets and projects to give future direction, as well as strategic planning in all areas of his clients' businesses.

When CFO of a $15MM company, Mike saved $250k in operating costs and reduced labor by twenty percent in the accounting, purchasing, and inventory control areas, providing information faster and more accurately.

Mike earned his MBA in Accounting from Johnson & Wales University. He is also treasurer for the Sons of Italy in East Providence, and a member of the Rehoboth Lions Club.

He enjoys spending his free time with family and friends, traveling, and attending sporting events. Mike resides in Rehoboth, Massachusetts.

Angelica Mey

Angelica joined Barba CFO in 2017 and brings with her over 7 years of accounting and finance experience.

Before joining the Barba CFO team Angelica worked with DCI. She started as a junior accountant and worked her way to becoming their Senior Accountant. Eventually, because of her knowledge of the company along with her dedication and experience she soon moved on to becoming their logistics manager She was involved in month end and year end financial preparations, audits, inventory physicals, cost accounting, as well as dealing with 3rd party overseas manufacturers and 3PL warehousing.

Angelica's professional focus now is to assist Barba CFO clients with getting their books on track, helping create and analyze financials, as well as creating processes so that their accounting staff can maintain the controls we've set in place which will provide accuracy that is needed for better decision making and becoming more successful in their industry.

Angelica does this with her extensive knowledge with various systems, likem ERPs (such as MS Dynamics Navision, Sage MAS200), QuickBooks, Financial Edge, Peachtree, AS400, PeopleSoft, Salesforce, Crystal Reports, MS Office, G Suite, etc. Angleica also has experience with Non-profit organizations as she created one from the ground up. This gives her knowledge of applying for 501(c)3 status to grant writing to filing 990s and everything in between. She is Bilingual in English and Khmer, working knowledge of Spanish. Angleica also volunteers as CFO for ARISE, Treasurer Finance Chair for CSRI, Assistant Treasurer for the BCNE, & IRS VITA Tax.

Angelica is a Married mom of 3 boys. A football family, of course super fans of the NE Patriots. Two out of her three boys are football players themselves. The family loves to go camping and fishing with goals of traveling more but happy to just find time to spend together outside of their crazy schedules.

Robert Segal

Prior to joining Barba CFO Robert spent 14 years as the Chief Financial Officer at Merida LLC which is a textile design and manufacturing company located in Fall River, MA. Robert was responsible for implementing and maintaining all financial, and human resource aspects at Merida along with other companies he had the privilege of working with.

While at Barba CFO Robert will draw upon 30 years of professional experience in both public accounting and private business and will advise and direct small businesses on financial and operational matters to achieve profitability and growth.

Robert is adept at helping others understand business finance and how it can impact their business due to his experience in multiple industries dealing with owners with varied levels of experience. He is personable, patient and unflappable allowing him to join any team with ease.

Robert holds a Bachelors of Business Administration with a concentration in Account from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Robert is a life long resident of Massachusetts, growing up in Randolph and currently residing in Mansfield with his wife, son and daughter, dog and cat. He spends most of my time with his immediate and extended family (parents, brother and sister's family) and enjoy traveling with the whole clan. He also enjoys playing golf during his free time.

Shad Weinstein


Shad brings 20 plus years of experience in accounting, financial management, technology, human resources, and operations.

He has worked in a variety of industry’s including Service, Insurance, Cable TV, and Retail. Most recently Shad spent 8 years as CFO at Summit Retail Solutions working with large wholesale and retail establishments including Costco, BJs, Sam’s, Bed Bath and Beyond. Shad strives to bring value to each engagement by understanding each client’s business model and how the internal and external forces impact its operations. He specializes in Financial Management, Business Process Management, and Technology implementation and design. Understanding that each department in an organization has impact on the other he helps companies create synergies between its internal departments and external partners.

Shad grew up in New Hampshire where he earned is B.S. in Accounting from Plymouth State College and his M.B.A from Southern New Hampshire University.

He moved to Massachusetts in 2008 where he lives with his wife and two daughters. Shad spends his free time going to his daughters' sporting events and the occasional round of golf.

Beth Arellano


Beth joined Barba CFO May 2023 with extensive experience working in data analytics, technology management, and database development. She previously held an information team leadership position at a manufacturing company, managing multiple databases which tracked process and inventory information.

Beth has a passion for process improvement and efficiency, with a focus on creating user friendly data management systems and processes. She is an expert in MS office applications especially MS Access and MS Excel and skilled in SQL, VBA, ODBC. Always looking for opportunities for improvement, Beth approaches data management with a detailed eye and analytic mindset. She ensures that data is managed and represented to provide exactly what is needed for better processes and business management.

Beth lives with her husband and daughter in north Georgia. She and her family enjoy hiking and camping in the mountains. They enjoy homesteading and keeping chickens and a garden. Beth is an artist and crafter in her spare time and especially loves sketching and crocheting.

Libi Sena


Prior to joining Barba CFO, Libi spent a few years as the HR & Business Manager at West Bay Christian Academy in RI, where she managed the day-to-day operations of the Business Office; supported 40+ employees and over 120 families in several business, finance, accounting, and HR functions. Prior to that Libi also worked as a Sr. Consultant at CVS Health. She gained over 12 years of experience in the financial industry while working at Citizens Bank N.A.

At Barba CFO, Libi works in several internal projects and seeks to utilize her prior work experience, gifts, and talents to make a positive impact on the business, the team, and the clients she supports. She has a strong passion for helping others and for learning, which has served her well on her professional career but also on her faith, as she seeks to serve Christ and others at her local church.

Libi holds a B.S. in Business Management with a concentration in Human Resources from Rhode Island College. She is also bilingual in English and Spanish

Outside of work Libi is a wife and mom who enjoys spending her free time with family and friends, traveling, and attending her children's sporting events. She loves the sun, the beach, and any type of outdoor activity. She currently resides in sunny Florida.

Randy Bjorkman Jr.

Randy joined Barba CFO after several years of experience in several Accounting roles which include: Director of Finance at Neon Marketplace, Manager of Franchise Accounting and Sr. Accountant at Cumberland Farms, and GL Accountant at Dunkin Donuts Franchises.

Some of Randy’s skills include:

System migrations and conversions, financial analytics, extremely proficient in Microsoft products, experience with numerous ERP systems, budgeting and cash management, experience presenting financial performance data to company owners and board members, strong accounting skills, account reconciliations, and financial report preparation experience.

Randy holds a B.S. in Accounting from Bridgewater State University.

Outside of working at Barba CFO, Randy loves spending time with his wife Elizabeth and their two daughters. He also enjoys spending time with friends and playing golf. Randy loves playing golf so much that his ideal travel would involve playing golf at some of the most prestigious courses around the world.

Ben Kaplan

Ben is a dedicated and experienced accounting professional with a passion for education and a proven track record of success in both the corporate and academic worlds. His journey began with a strong academic foundation, graduating Summa cum laude with both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in accountancy from Johnson & Wales University.

Ben has always been drawn to the power of knowledge and the joy of sharing it with others. For over ten years, he had the privilege of teaching Financial and Managerial Accounting at Johnson & Wales, where he helped countless students develop their accounting skills and prepare for successful careers.

Beyond the classroom, Ben also applied his expertise in various industries, including construction, manufacturing, non-profit, retail and employment HR. He held leadership roles as Controller and CFO, demonstrating his ability to manage complex financial operations and drive positive results.

When Ben is not immersed in the world of numbers, he enjoys spending quality time with his wife, daughter, and their beloved dog.

Ben is driven by a desire to make a positive impact and contribute to the growth and success of any organization he is a part of. His diverse experience and strong financial acumen make him a valuable asset to any team.

MacKenzie Whitsell


MacKenzie has been with Barba CFO since June 2017 and has over ten years of business management experience. Before joining the Barba CFO team, she held a variety of positions in the home security industry, most recently in strategic development and technology. Prior to that, in her role as Director of Finance, she increased the company’s annual net income by over 25% through careful process management and use of technology.

MacKenzie’s areas of expertise include leveraging technology to improve operational efficiency as well as job costing, commission management and incentive structures. She is fluent in such skills as Microsoft Access, SQL, VBA, ODBC and is an expert on Microsoft Excel. She enjoys using operational analytics to provide her clients with the right information to make informed management decisions and improve processes. Her focus on efficiency and removing redundancies in business processes reduces costs and errors, allowing businesses to run smoothly and minimize manual data entry. MacKenzie employs a continuous improvement approach to business management, in which she is always looking for opportunities to reassess and improve upon business processes.

Since joining Barba CFO, she has been specializing in database design and reporting as well as creating process automations between various software types to increase accuracy and reduce data entry.

MacKenzie holds a Bachelor of the Arts in Italian Literature from Mount Holyoke College and an Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of Connecticut. In her spare time, MacKenzie also runs a sanctuary for formerly wild horses out of her home in Sterling, Connecticut and enjoys hobbies like rally car racing with her husband and two huskies.
